Thanks to all who took the bait to visit from Theresa's very kind note today or Heidi's links list from a few days ago...and of course to Theresa, Heidi, and Carolyn for helping me go public! This is fun. Isn't Theresa's Filigree Lace Jacket so ethereal and lovely? And Heidi's shawl, too. That Kidsilk Haze is something else altogether! In Essence news, I'm nearly finished with the increases, which means the armhole shaping and neck division stuff can't be far behind. Yeah! I hope I can do the shoulder seams a little better this time than in either of my other Linen Drape projects. And I've definitely moved into summer-tops-to-wear-under-suit-jackets mode with yesterday's purchase of
Elsebeth Lavold's Cotton Patine (insert accent aigu there, s'il vous plait). I actually have six balls, but oddly, one has gone missing. They will become a sleeveless top, or maybe I'll put some cap sleeves on it (which may require another ball). I'm thinking of running a cable up the front and getting some ribbing involved or something. You might laugh, though, when I tell you that, while it is not Linen Drape, it's knit at almost the same gauge (or do you say tension?)!! I looked at Ms. Lavold's book for this yarn, but her Viking-y stuff is more my style -- these patterns are more, um, romantic, maybe? I'm not sure that's how you'd see them, but that's the word that comes to mind. Have a great weekend, all!
as for the "dipping her toes in the blogging pool"...come on in...the water's FINE!
Welcome to blogland!

i like the color. has a slightly heather-y look to it despite being cotton. :) i have her original viking book if you want to maybe pick a cable out of that one to throw into your tank :)
