Is this a photo I see before me?
I went to the LYS yesterday, where they've just gotten in some yarns from Southwest Trading Company -- you can read about them here -- and I could not walk out without two skeins of Bamboo yarn, so named because it's made of bamboo! It's true!! The swatch has a hand that I really like -- crisp and elegant. It may just soothe my broken heart over Linen Drape, now an endangered species. The skeins have good yardage -- 250 -- and at this store the price was $14.50 each. Expensive, but not (to my mind) stratospheric. I think they will become a tank top, but Amy, who was back in town (yeah!) pointed out that I probably had enough for a short, lacy poncho, an idea I like very much. This company also makes a super-soft wool yarn called Optim. Just as the company claims, it really does feel like cashmere. It, too, is not cheap, but it is not priced like cashmere.
She and I met up with...are you ready for it...Carolyn, almost literally just off the plane from London! Sounds like she had a nice time in France and London. She had some great stories. I was amazed to see her -- I would certainly have been prostrate right off a trans-Atlantic flight like that. We all went to KIP together, which, as always, was a great time, though we were missing some regulars.
