No KIP for me! Again. I have to teach a class in place of my boss tomorrow night. He's recovering from surgery, so I guess he has a good excuse, but my heart sank a little even when he asked me to do it several weeks ago. Dang! And the way my life has been, KIP is really the only time I knit lately, which is truly pathetic in its own way. All you other knit bloggers are working on lovely projects, though, so I'm living vicariously through you once again!

Back to life, back to reality...

...back to the here and now/ooh-wow-wow-wow.  All right, whether I like it or not, this is how life is going to be in These United States. So, I pledge to temper the grousing and get on with the knitting. (Before I leave the topic entirely, I have to say that I agree with Michelle's comment -- I was shocked at Keyes' ability to get any votes, much less a quarter of those cast!!!)

Unfortunately, there's not been much knitting to talk about! I didn't end up getting to KIP at all last week, blast it all, and I don't think I can make the next one, either. Why do so many things happen on Thursdays???

To make a bad week worse...if I'm able to get to KIP tonight, it will only be at the very end. Carry on, gang! I'll try to get there if I can.

I still can't believe the election results. Did you see the Senate margin? Yikes. I've seen a couple of Illinois bloggers reminding me that at least Barack Obama is headed for Washington, which is definitely a cause for celebration. But as happy as I am about that, it's still going to be a mighty long slog.

And I don't mean the crafting kind! I'm dying to know how this dang election is going to turn out; I can't take much more suspense. Do you think we'll have a winner before Friday?
