The hiatus that ate us

Bad habits are the hardest to break! I totally forgot to post for several days -- though that might also have something to do with the fact that I haven't knit a stitch since my last post. Since I have no progress to share, I'll glom for one second (promise) onto an achievement of my daughter -- she sits up on her own!

Well, progress has slowed considerably on the Polar sweater, but at least the weather is warm enough again here that it's not needed. Please send LONG NAP VIBES our way daily, once at mid-morning and again sort of early afternoon-ish. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

You guys are wonderful -- I was so surprised to see comments so quickly! Thank you. The color of the sweater (which seems to be about as big as a blanket, but I guess she can wear it for a couple of seasons) is deep red. It's the Polar I bought when Carolyn and I met at Knitting Workshop last spring, before we knew Ellie was Ellie. I've divided for the armholes, so it's going quickly. I'm sort of improvising design-wise, so we'll see.

Let's act like I haven't missed a day

I started a pullover today for Ellie. The yarn is Rowan Polar. Not the most practical for a teething "Droolie Julie," but soft as all get-out! Our house tends to be cold, so she can cuddle up in it. These are basically the first stitches I've knit in many a month.
