My grades are due at 8 a.m. tomorrow. I'm in pretty good shape, especially for me, though I still have wood to chop, as Clark would say. There's more than there might be because I got really tired of the whole exercise yesterday afternoon and made a hippo.
She's not finished, and she's got her problems,
but tacking those ears on this morning made me think she might actually make it. What's key for me at the moment, regardless of how she looks, is that as I was making her, I felt my brain untwist. And you know that can't be bad.
The pattern is from the book below, which I got on Alibris.com after the blogger Molly Chicken posted plaudits of it some time back:
Take care! Be kind to yourself -- don't twist your brain more than a quarter-turn today.
the hippo is great. love the fabric.

Oh my goodness! The Woman's Day Book of Soft Toys and Dolls! When I was in 4th or 5th grade, I found this book in the library, and had to make the Little Women dolls. I made a number of things from the book after that. When I was older (college or high school), I made Alice in Wonderland, and she turned out very nicely. My technique had improved by then as well. I hope you enjoy the book! And if you do enjoy sewing stuffed toys, you might want to take a look at Toys from the Tales of Beatrix Potter, which I like even more.
Best, Holly

She's so cute Mary! We all have our own problems but I don't see anything wrong with her.
